Wizards and witches have another chance to see Tom Felton as Draco Malfoy in “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” on Broadway. The actor announced a third and final extension until Sunday, Jan. 3, 2027.
Tom Felton Returns as Draco Malfoy
Last summer, Felton announced that he would be appearing in “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” on Broadway at the Lyric Theatre, returning to play his beloved Slytherin character Draco Malfoy. Upon joining the company, he became the first cast member from the original “Harry Potter” films to appear in the stage production.
“Being a part of the Harry Potter films has been one of the greatest honors of my life,” Felton said in a press release announcing his run. “It’s surreal to be stepping back into his shoes – and of course his iconic platinum blond hair – and I am thrilled to be able to see his story through and to share it with the greatest fan community in the world.”
He made his Broadway debut on Nov. 11, 2025. Felton originally signed on for a limited 19-week engagement through March 22, 2026. Since then, the actor has extended his run three times, now concluding his engagement at the beginning of 2027.
The actor announced his final extension in an Instagram post, saying, “You know what? I’m not done quite yet. Let’s do this a few more times.”
The extension comes with several planned absences: Felton will not appear at performances August 17–23, September 14–20, October 12–18, or November 2.

Meet the Current Broadway Cast of “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child”
Set 19 years after the end of the original series, “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” follows Albus Severus Potter as he sets off for Hogwarts. At the sorting ceremony, Albus is sorted into Slytherin, leaving him feeling conflicted and struggling to live up to his family’s legacy as Gryffindors.
The play made its debut in the West End on June 7, 2016, starting with previews. Opening night was July 30, 2016. The first edition of the script made its way into readers’ hands the next day on Harry Potter’s birthday. Two years later, the production began previews in New York City on March 16, 2018. Now, eight years later, the play has grossed over $444 million, becoming one of the most financially successful Broadway dramas.
The current cast includes John Skelley as Harry Potter and Trish Lindstrom as Ginny Potter. Emmet Smith portrays their son Albus Potter. Rachel Christopher and Daniel Fredrick play Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, respectively, with Janae Hammond as their daughter Rose Granger-Weasley. Aidan Close portrays Malfoy’s son Scorpius. Kristen Martin plays Delphi Diggory.
